Full-arch dental implants are used to replace a complete set of upper or lower teeth with a fixed bridge supported by dental implants.
The number of implants we use depends on your individual mouth, the amount and quality of available bone, and how we want to support your final bridge. In some cases four implants may be appropriate, while in others we may recommend six or more.
All-on-4 is one particular full-arch approach where four carefully positioned implants are used to support a fixed bridge. The bridge stays securely in place and isn’t removed by you like a denture.
At Peacock Dental Spa, we plan your full-arch implant treatment using our in-house CBCT scanner and optical scanner. This allows us to assess your jaw in three dimensions and carefully plan the position, angle and depth of each implant before treatment begins.
Where appropriate, we can use this digital plan to create a surgical guide, helping us transfer the planned implant positions accurately to your mouth during treatment.
With full-arch cases, careful planning is especially important because the implants need to work together to support your fixed bridge. We plan your treatment with the final teeth in mind from the outset, considering both function and how your new smile will look.
Katy carries out much of the implant treatment at Peacock Dental Spa and brings extensive restorative experience to our full-arch cases. Before joining Peacock, she worked at Cherrybank Dental Spa in Edinburgh, where she restored hundreds of implant cases, including complex full-arch restorations.
That experience is particularly valuable with full-arch treatment, because successful implant dentistry isn’t only about placing the implants. The position of the implants and the design, function and appearance of the final bridge all need to be planned together from the outset.
Katy is currently undertaking The Campbell Academy’s three-year Advanced Implant Dentistry programme and works closely with Mike, who mentors her as she develops her implant surgery skills. Together, they take a collaborative approach to planning more complex cases.
Mike has been placing dental implants since 2010 and has experience treating everything from single missing teeth through to full-arch implant cases.
Full-arch implant treatment is a particular area of his experience, including fixed implant bridges, All-on-4 treatment and immediate full-arch loading where appropriate.
His postgraduate training includes Cemal Ucer’s multi-system implant course, an MSc with Distinction in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry, and The Campbell Academy’s three-year Advanced Implant Dentistry programme.
Mike works closely with Katy on full-arch cases, combining his surgical experience with Katy’s extensive background in restoring implant cases to plan both the implants and the final teeth together.
Before we place a single implant, we take both a 3D scan of your mouth and a CBCT (Cone Beam CT) scan. This gives us a highly detailed 3D view of your bone, nerves, and soft tissue, so your treatment plan is accurate to the millimetre.
CBCT technology ensures the perfect placement of each implant, improves your long-term results, and helps us avoid any unwelcome surprises.

You’ll be given local anaesthetic, and sedation is available if you’d like to be even more relaxed. Most patients say discomfort afterwards is far less than expected, and it’s manageable with over-the-counter medication.
With proper care, your implants can last decades. The bridge may need replacing or repairing over time, but the implants themselves are designed for long-term use.
Yes – regular check-ups and hygiene visits are essential to keep your implants and gums healthy, just like natural teeth.
